The ALI offers two English support options for academic students at UMKC.
The ALI offers tutoring to academic students. Curriculum is tailored to meet each students individual needs. Tutoring sessions can be scheduled around a student's class schedule. Students can request tutoring at any time during the semester. Tutoring is subject to instructor/tutor availability. The earlier a student requests tutoring, the more likely they are to receive it.
Non-credit tutoring is $50 per hour. Students pay the ALI directly using the online Marketplace.
This course was originally designed for first semester undergraduate students who need extra English support (Paseo Pathway Program). Undergraduate students are allowed to enroll in ALI 160 in any semester of their degree program. If you are an undergraduate student who has not taken ENGL 110, it is recommended, but not required, that you enroll in ENGL 110 at the same time as ALI 160.

Non Paseo Pathway students cannot register themselves for ALI 160 on Pathway. Academic students interested in registering for ALI 160 should ask their academic advisor to contact the ALI at ali@umkc.edu for registration instructions. Students need to register for the class at the beginning of the semester. Contact the ALI for an exact deadline.
