The UMKC Department of Economics is known in the Kansas City metro, nationally, and internationally as a center for creative and innovative economics. We offer a unique, interdisciplinary approach to the study of economics. Our students challenge the status quo and find new and better ways to explain the world. Our graduates are in high demand and find employment in business, finance, government service, and academia. The department has a tradition that is more than 80 years old that continues to be our strongest asset.
