As someone who has been a law student, I view the economic growth process as a series of negotiations between different stakeholders. At the heart of these negotiations are the institutions that facilitate them. I am particularly interested in the empirical applications of classical political economy, specifically in understanding economics through institutional changes and what these changes mean for various stakeholders.
UMKC has a long history of research and teaching in classical political economy and is one of the few institutions in the nation with this focus. I can immediately see how my research interests align with the university’s strengths and am eager to contribute to this long-standing tradition. Additionally, I am passionate about teaching both history and sports, subjects I follow with great enthusiasm. My goal is to introduce the principles of economics through engaging fields that capture students' interest.
