"One thing I admire the most about UMKC is that there are such diverse groups of students. It’s awesome that every single day you have the chance of meeting someone from a different country than where you're from, and you’re able to interact with different cultures around campus."
Shannon Berry, sociology and criminal justice and criminology, '18
"I love the campus. The old buildings give it a unique look and it’s in a great area of Kansas City. I love all of the activities and volunteer opportunities here. I’ve been introduced to soup kitchens and Operation Breakthrough, among others."

"I spoke with some professors in sociology, and, based on my interests, they encouraged me to consider it as a career. My lifelong goals are to work for the U. S. government as an FBI agent or in criminology. I want a stable family life and good career."
